On the 9th of November, during the World Science Day, the Estonian Academy of Sciences introduced the 2020 academician candidates. TalTech’s Jaan Janno will stand as a candidate in the field of mathematics and mathematical statistics.
In total three new academicians will be chosen this year from three different fields: mathematics and mathematical statistics, forestry, and theatrical arts.

Merle Karusoo (director, dramatist, lecturer)
Anu Lamp (Drama School of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre)
Elmo Nüganen (Drama School of Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre)
The three new academicians will be chosen on the 2nd of December.
