On 29 August 2025, Professor Tiit Land took the oath as Rector of Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) for his second term, administered by the President of the Republic, Alar Karis.
Rector Land’s priorities for the second term include fostering top-tier research closely linked to entrepreneurship, training experts in key fields for Estonia’s development, and increasing the engagement of alumni's expertise and experience. As he stated: “A technical university in a small nation cannot afford to be ordinary. We must be smarter, faster, and bolder—and compete above all with ingenuity.”
Warm congratulations were extended by President Alar Karis, Minister of Education and Research Kristina Kallas, the Vice-Chairman of the University Council Tõnis Kanger, and the Chair of the TalTech Student Union, Alexander Rein Robas. The ceremony was attended by students, staff, alumni, and partners.

Professor Tiit Land was re-elected to the position of Rector by the University Council for a second term, and the new rectorate commenced substantive work on 1 August 2025. He is the 16th Rector of TalTech.
