The student portal (student.taltech.ee) unique in Estonia was completed by the 100th anniversary of the TalTech student body and is celebrating its first birthday on 1 October. The student portal is the so-called wise man in every student’s pocket, assembling all the information they need from timetables and grades to important student events.
In a year, students have used the portal to seek information and assistance more than 200,000 times. This proves that it is an important information channel for the students, which they keep an eye on. The student portal is visited the most at the beginning of the academic year in order to find information about timetables, the locations of classes, organisation of study and general student life. The counsellors at the Student Counselling Office are also always there to help you and can easily be contacted through the chat function of the student portal.
Over the past year, a section for library checkouts was added to the student portal, where every student can see their library loans and due dates. The portal also lets you mark your favourite places to eat, so you can see their menus first. Furthermore, we are planning to add a prefilled weighted average calculator and implement several other exciting updates.
