Nordtek is a network of technology universities in the Nordic and Baltic countries, which Tallinn University of Technology joined in January 2019. From June 2023, for the next two years, Nordtek's work will be managed by TalTech, led by Maarja Kruusmaa, who was elected as the network president.
One of the goals of the Nordtek network, in addition to popularising the field of engineering education and developing entrepreneurship and innovation, is to provide students and university employees with opportunities for mobility between the network's partner schools in the field of engineering and architecture. Eight countries with a total of 28 universities participate in the network: Estonia (TalTech), Latvia (1 university), Lithuania (2), Finland (7), Sweden (9), Denmark (2), Norway (4) and Iceland (2). The complete list of partners can be found here.
Within the Nordtek network, we can support the mobility of both students and teaching staff to partner schools based on Nordplus funding. At the moment, the student scholarship is 1,480 euros per semester, the funding for employees primarily depends on the destination country and the period spent abroad, but the allowance for a weekly assignment is around 800 euros. In addition, with Nordplus funding, it is also possible to support short-term student mobility. You can also go on assignment to all Nordtek partner schools using Erasmus+ funding.
