Tiia Rüütmannile anti Adolf Melezineki nimeline Rahvusvahelise inseneripedagoogika ühingu (IGIP) elutöö preemia.

Tiia Rüütmann on koostanud käsiraamatu „Inseneripedagoogika. STEM õppeainete õpetamine ja õppimine“. Ta arendab ja teeb koolitusi pedagoogika valdkonnas, samuti loodusteaduste, robootika, inseneeria ning matemaatika didaktika alal nii Tallinna Tehnikaülikoolis kui ka rahvusvaheliselt, olles sõbralik ja innustav eestvedaja ning hinnatud kolleeg rahvusvahelises inseneripedagoogika kogukonnas.

Rahvusvahelisse inseneripedagoogika ühingusse kuulub liikmeid 75-st riigist, ühing koordineerib tehnikaõpetajate ja -õppejõudude koolitamist ning nende õppekavade arendamist kõikidel kõrgharidustasemetel.

Austria professor Adolf Melezinek oli IGIP looja ja inseneripedagoogika rajaja, temanimeline elutööpreemia on IGIPi kõrgeim autasu.

Preemia andis üle IGIPi peasekretär prof Michael Auer ICL2020/IGIP rahvusvahelise konverentsi „Educating Engineers for Future Industrial Revolutions“ avatseremoonial 23. septembril Mektorys.

Tiia Rüütmann on valitud IGIPi rahvusvahelise seirekomitee presidendiks ning täitevkomitee liikmeks.

Kaks aastat tagasi tunnustas Rüütmanni ka maailma suurim inseneriorganisatsioon IEEE konverentside elutöö autasuga.

Head of the Estonian Centre for Engineering Pedagogy, Rüütmann, was acknowledged for her long-term work and prominent results in developing engineering pedagogy.

Tiia Rüütmann is the author of the engineering pedagogy handbook “Inseneripedagoogika. STEM valdkonna õppeainete mõjus õpetamine ja õppimine“. She is developing and giving trainings on pedagogy, but also on the didactics of natural sciences, robotics, engineering and mathematics at Tallinn University of Technology and on the international level, while being a friendly and inspiring leader and an appreciated colleague in the international engineering pedagogy community.

With members from 75 countries, the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy coordinates the training of technology teachers and lecturers and the development of their curricula in all levels of higher education.

The Austrian Professor Adolf Melezinek was the founder of IGIP and the father of engineering pedagogy, and the Meritorious Service Award named after him is the highest award issued by the IGIP.

The award was delivered by the General Secretary of IGIP, Professor Michael Auer, at the opening ceremony of the ICL2020/IGIP international conference “Educating Engineers for Future Industrial Revolutions” on 23 September at Mektory.

Tiia Rüütmann has been elected President of the International Monitoring Committee of the IGIP and a member of the Executive Committee.

Two years ago, the world’s largest engineering organisation IEEE also awarded Rüütmann with the Meritorious Service Award for outstanding contribution to EDUCON development.
