Along with Tiia Rüütmann, five other prominent promoters of engineering education were elected to the Executive Committee:

  • Prof. Tania Bueno (i3G Institute, Brazil) – President-elect for 2025
  • Prof. Wahid Azizi (The Royal Academy, United Kingdom)
  • Prof. Ye Min (CSEE, China)
  • Prof. Lelanie Smith (University of Pretoria, South Africa)
  • Prof. Renetta Tull (UC Davis, USA)

IFEES is a global organization that brings together the world's leading engineering education organizations, universities, academic associations, and accreditation agencies. Its goal is to promote the quality and impact of engineering education, support innovation and international cooperation, and provide a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices.

Tiia Rüütmann represents the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) and the Estonian engineering education community on the IFEES Executive Committee. Her election to this high-level international organization is recognition of both her work and the contribution of TalTech School of Engineering to the development of engineering education.

The most important annual event of IFEES is the World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF), which brings together engineering education experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry partners from around the world. WEEF conferences provide an opportunity to discuss future trends in engineering education, share research findings, and promote international cooperation.

IFEES membership includes the most influential international engineering education organizations, such as IGIP (International Society for Engineering Pedagogy), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc), ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education), SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education), ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), AaeE (Australasian Association for Engineering Education), AEEA (African Engineering Education Association), LACCEI (Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions), IACEE (International Association for Continuing Engineering Education), as well as Siemens, MathWorks, and many other organizations.

The new leaders will take office at the IFEES annual conference WEEF2025, which will be held in Daegu, South Korea, in September.
