Tiit Land explained his candidacy as follows, “I am running for Rector of Tallinn University of Technology with the aim of continuing the activities and initiatives we have started together. Over the past few years, we have built a team that fosters scientific excellence, strengthens international collaboration, and prioritises students. In the upcoming term, the key challenges will be training the next generation of engineers and technology experts, as well as contributing to the developments in the high-tech industry, defence, and artificial intelligence sectors."
Tarmo Soomere noted that technical universities face major challenges in our rapidly changing world: strengthening their support for the Estonian economy and taking a leading role in fulfilling the third mission of universities – serving society. “Graduates should leave the university equipped with an education rooted in cutting-edge science and a firm conviction that they can help make the world a better place,” said Soomere.
