On 17 November, a travelling exhibition of sports memorabilia curated by the U.S. Embassy will open in the foyer of TalTech’s SOC building, also marking the official launch of the “Sports Diplomacy and Education Pathways” project.

The exhibition features sports jerseys, footwear and other sporting memorabilia donated by 13 athletes, accompanied by accounts of their experiences and achievements.

The exhibition showcases both American athletes based in Estonia and Estonian athletes who have studied and competed in the United States. Among those featured are handball player Maksim McCauley, biathlete Johanna Talihärm and para swimmer Matz Topkin.

The exhibition is part of “Sports Diplomacy and Education Pathways”, a joint project of the U.S. Embassy and EducationUSA Estonia. The project aims to introduce young people to opportunities to combine sport with higher education in the United States and to share the experiences of athletes who have studied there.

TalTech is the first stop on the travelling exhibition’s tour, which will continue to the American centres in Narva, Viljandi and Kuressaare.

The official opening of the exhibition and the project launch will be held for invited guests on 17 November at 16:00. From 18 November, all members of the TalTech community and the wider public are welcome to visit the exhibition. It will remain on display at TalTech until shortly before Christmas.
