Tallinn University of Technology, together with its alumni, students, staff and good friends, is once again celebrating its anniversary with a Grand Campus Party on 13 September. This year, in addition to alumni reunions, freshmen initiation, campus orienteering, open labs and other exciting events, for the first time TalTech will have the Inventors' Song Festival “With Mind, Hand and Song”.
“More than 5,000 people came to the Campus Party last year who enjoyed it so much that the University community demanded a new one,” said Sten Kalder, the head organiser of the Campus Party. On this day, the University welcomes everyone - students, staff, alumni, partners and all friends.
Events and activities are spread throughout the day - from noon to early morning. During the day we’ll have alumni reunions, you can see what's exciting going on in University labs, take part in campus orienteering, and every full hour we show cinematic footage of archival depths, as well as contemporary material, and more.
The daytime program will have a grand finale at 6:30 p.m. with the TalTech Song Festival, featuring several of the University's cultural collectives: an orchestra, choir singers, folk dance group, top conductors and soloists, "And most importantly, the best spectators who sing along," added Kalder.
Everyone is welcome to the song festival, whether you know the lyrics, carry a tune or not. Kalder explained that song books will have both soft and hard copies and singing together will be very powerful.
