This autumn semester, the Department of Energy Technology at Tallinn University of Technology is pleased to welcome visiting professor Peter Stuber from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). His lectures are tailored for master’s students in energy technology and thermal engineering, offering in-depth insights into thermodynamic processes and their applications in engineering practice.
Professor Stuber brings over 30 years of experience in the fields of thermal energy and environmental technology. He has held senior positions at the international energy corporation Alstom, actively contributed to scientific research, and played a key role in advancing energy technologies in both academic and industrial contexts. At FHNW, he leads the teaching area of environmental technology and resource management and is known for his interdisciplinary approach.
His lecture on September 25 focused on thermodynamic power cycles, seamlessly blending theory with practical examples. Students had the opportunity to explore a real-world system — the Capstone microturbine located in TalTech’s building — which illustrates the potential of small-scale energy production.
Professor Stuber will remain at TalTech until the end of October, during which time he will deliver several more lectures and actively participate in the department’s research and development activities.
We thank Professor Stuber for sharing his inspiring knowledge and look forward to the upcoming sessions with great anticipation!
