Aditi Sarkar

Please introduce yourself.

I am an academician with over ten years of experience in marketing and strategy. I finished my PhD in Marketing in India before moving to Germany. My academic pursuits have taken me to the USA as a visiting scholar and exposed me to the international community of researchers, inspiring me to aim higher. Hence, when I relocated to Munich, Germany, I joined the Technical University of Munich to commence my second doctoral degree in International Business. In my ten years of academic experience, I have enjoyed working with great researchers, which has led to several publications in peer-reviewed journals.

What kind of knowledge and experience do you bring to TalTech?

My experiences have allowed me to develop a unique ability to see business problems from both consumer and management perspectives. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with great mentors, peers, and students across India, USA, and Germany. My experiences range from understanding consumer perceptions about services to understanding the growth strategies of multinational corporations. With research and mentoring experience in two fields of business – marketing and corporate strategy – I am well-equipped to bring a comprehensive approach to TalTech, answering state-of-the-art questions about businesses' profitable growth.

What are your goals in your position at TalTech?

In TalTech, I plan to continue my research journey through a wide range of collaborations within the Department of Business Administration’s research groups. I aim to evolve the marketing unit’s research initiatives, focusing on publishing articles and securing project funding alongside PhD students and team members.

One surprise that you have had within your time at TalTech?

The biggest surprise at TalTech so far is the flat structure of the University and the department. The faculty members, group heads, and department heads are all very friendly, open, and easily accessible. I hope to deliver the best in this modern and open-minded environment.
