The School Council

The Council of the School of Business and Governance is an academic decision-making body of the School, the membership of which is formed and approved by the Rector on the proposal of the Dean of the School for up to three years. The task of the Council is to elect the members who organize the teaching and learning activities and co-operation with the students and monitor the implementation of the action plan and budget. The Council cooperates with the Senate of TalTech on the structure of the School and the programme drafts and also elects the composition of the highest decision-making body.

The council of the School of Business and Governance is competent to:

  1. discusses and decides on the matters related to education, research and development at the level of the school;
  2. adopts the development plan of the school and submits it to the Rector;
  3. measure the success of executing the Action Plan and budget performance;
  4. makes proposals to the Senate concerning the school's structure;
  5. approves the draft study programmes of the school and submits them to the Senate for approval;
  6. elects persons to the academic positions of the school, except for tenured and researcher positions;
  7. elects representatives of the school to the Senate;
  8. performs other functions arising from legislation.

  • Kristi Joamets, a representative of the academic staff of the Department of Law
  • Mari-Klara Stein, a representative of the academic staff of the Department of Business Administration
  • Mark Toomsalu, a student representative
