Measured: wear (according to change in length, mass, volume), wear intensity, coefficient of friction, surface topography. Conditions: erosion (also by centrifugal accelerator), abrasive wear (also against sandpaper), friction wear, adhesive wear, fretting wear, hydroabrasive wear, cavitation wear, mechanochemical wear, impact wear (also by disintegrator) surface fatigue wear, sliding wear (with or without lubrication), antiseizure properties, scratching tests. Additional activities: wear imaging (SEM, 2D, 3D) metallographic sections, wear product (debris) investigation, particle size measurements.
