The Study Rooms can be used by TalTech Library registered readers. Rooms are designed for studying and research, commercial activities such as giving private lessons are not permitted.
Group Study Rooms

There are 6 Group Study Rooms in the library.
on the 3rd floor: 318, 319
on the 4th floor: 416, 417
on the 5th floor: 536, 537
- GSRs are intended for groups of 3-8 people
- Each reservation can be up to 4 hours per day.
- Only two reservations per group are accepted.
- Only two reservations per group per week are accepted.
- Reservations may be made up to 14 days in advance.
- The library staff cancels a reservation 15 minutes after reserved time if a user who has made a reservation is not present.
- Users without a reservation may be asked to leave the study room by the users with a reservation.
- A group with a reservation is privileged over the group with no reservation to use the study room.
- Leave the room clean and tidy and return the furniture to its original position.
- Do not leave any library materials in the room.
Rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor is equipped with a computer and an extension cord (6 sockets). Room on the 5th floor has a screen and camera which can be used with own computer. Each room has a whiteboard (ask the floor’s service desk for whiteboard marker and eraser).
You can also buy a flip chart paper (size 90x60 cm) from the 2nd floor Service Centre. One sheet costs 0,20€.
Individual Study Rooms

There are 26 Individual Study Rooms in the library. There is an extra chair in every room, so it is possible to work in pairs.

Individual Study Rooms for a fee
There are 4 Individual Study Rooms for a fee on the libary's 4th floor 432-435 (with the possibility to lock the door).
You can pay for the room in cash or by debit card at the 2nd floor Service Center. You can see the price list here. You receive the key at the 4th floor Service Desk after presenting the receipt.

24/7 study room
The 24/7 study room in room LIB-101, located on the first floor of the TalTech library building, offers opportunities for independent coactivities outside the fixed lecture times and even after the library is closed.
The room that is open around the clock is for all TalTech staff members and students for study and research purposes. The study room expands the possibilities of individual and group studies and lets the users arrange meetings, workshops, consultations etc. conveniently. About 40 people can simultaneously use the room.
The study room has video surveillance. However, room users are responsible for their personal belongings and the equipment in the room, as well as for clean and quiet surroundings. Read Best Practice for this room.
Only TalTech members can access the room with TalTech ISIC or ITIC card, or with a TalTech staff card. When the library’s and university’s doors are closed for the night, you can enter the building through the door next to the revolving door with the same card you use for getting in to the study room.
The room hosts four computers with high-speed internet, Wi-Fi, four monitors for connecting your laptop, and a Print In City copying and printing device. Uni-ID or Estonian ID-card can be used to log in to computers. Unplugging and modifying computer cables is not allowed.

Log in to the library computers:
- With your TalTech Uni-ID password or an ID-card (PIN1 required)
Gives access through a secure authentication system to the university's ICT resources. - With guest username and password (written on the keyboard)
NB! All saved data and files will be deleted when you log out of the local account
The wireless internet Wi-Fi (eduroam or TalTech) is available everywhere at the library.
There is some basic software installed to the library computers. It is possible to add extra software for you to use if you log in with your UNI-ID and choose a necessary software from the Software Centre.

Reading and listening devices for the blind
There are 3 devices available in the library on the 2nd floor for the visually impaired and blind people to read and listen printed and audio materials. In addition, there is a possibility to use a tactile graphics and braille-embossing printer. It is possible to use a computer with the help of JAWS.
On the 2nd floor of the library, it is possible to use a computer with the help of JAWS. The computer connected with braille output device is provided with JAWS for Windows 15.0 that works with Eloquence speech synthesizer.
A screen reader is a program that analyses what is displayed on the screen and re-presents the information usually via either the speech synthesizer or the Braille output device.
JAWS presents what is on the screen with the help of the speech synthesizer, thus enabling a blind person to work with a computer.
With the assistance of JAWS, a visually impaired person can surf the net, send e-mails, communicate via messaging clients, compose documents and spreadsheets and much more.
Video magnifier MagniLink Vision (MLV) magnifies an image of the printed material on the screen. In order to enhance readability, the color of text as well as background can be adjusted. This device consists of a screen and a reading table, which can be moved left and right.

Video magnifier Mezzo V3.0 “to go” is an electronic video magnifier with a continuous magnification from x2.2 to x90. Columns can be comfortably read just by turning the monitor 90 degrees. The picture will be automatically adapted to the new monitor direction.
The device is small enough to easily move it from one place to the other and can be collapsed for transporting to another location. Mobility package includes a carrier case (weight 5,3 kg). In order to enhance readability, the color of text as well as background can be adjusted. The device can be borrowed on the basis of a valid library card.
The KOBA EasyReader Daisy is a compact machine that scans printed material and then reads it out loud. The document can be placed in any direction on the machine; it will be automatically rotated in order to recognize the print. The speed of the “reading out loud”' can be adjusted. A pair of headphones are available next to the device.

The printer ViewPlus Emprint adds color ink print to a tactile output. It is possible to print on many different types of media, from lightweight copy paper to heavy cardstock, up to 9 inches wide.
ViewPlus printer embosses print at a 20 dots-per-inch graphic resolution and automatically convert colors and gray scale into variable dot heights. ViewPlus embossers use the standard Windows printer driver to mix text and graphics in mainstream Windows software like Word and Excel. Use the Tiger Software Suite (TSS) to take braille translation and tactile graphics to a new level.
