The UNESCO Chair in Digital Transformation for Inclusive and Sustainable Development at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) promotes interdisciplinary research, education, and international cooperation focused on ethical, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation.

The Chair contributes to UNESCO priorities through:

  • digital inclusion,
  • equitable access to education,
  • ethical digital governance,
  • international cooperation,
  • and knowledge sharing.

The initiative supports the development of inclusive digital societies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

INVITATION: Launch Event of the UNESCO Chair at TalTech

Dear colleagues and partners,

We are honored to inform you that TalTech has been awarded the prestigious title of a UNESCO Chair in Digital Transformation for Inclusive and Sustainable Development.  

We will present our plans on June 10th from 13:00 to 15:00 at the TalTech School of Information Technologies (Akadeemia tee 15a), Room 218.

The event agenda includes:

  • Presentation of the Chair's vision: How to guide the digital transformation to ensure it is inclusive, ethical, and sustainable.
  • Introduction of the "Digital Storybook" special project: A new global citizen science initiative collecting stories on how technology helps humanity survive and adapt during crises, disruptions, and war.
  • Panel Discussion: "Building Human-Centered Digital Societies," featuring top experts and policymakers in the field.
  • Networking: Discussions and exchanging contacts over coffee.  

We warmly welcome you to share ideas, build partnerships, and celebrate this important milestone in the development of Estonia's digital society with us!
