Piles of books

For this matter, we will discuss a paper by Andreas Roos (2021), “Earthing philosophy of technology: A case for ontological materialism”, in Pasi Heikkurinen & Toni Ruuska (eds.), Sustainability beyond Technology, Oxford University Press, 59-95.

This session discusses the place of technology in discourses on ecology and the current state of the planet. The author argues that our understandings of technology and the biosphere convey different assumptions of the world and offers a framework to overcome this discrepancy.

Our guest speaker is Andreas Roos, Research at Human Ecology, in the Department of Human Geography, Lund University, Sweden. His research focuses on the relation between technology and ecology, especially in relation to renewable energy.

The Reading Seminar will take place on Thursday, 14 April 2022 at 16.00-17.30 via MS Teams.
