Tallinn University of Technology

The main goal of the Centre of Climate Smart Future, established by the Rector's directive on February 3, 2022, is to integrate initiatives in the fields of sustainable development, circular economy and climate neutrality into the university's teaching and research, to help the university develop into a green city test center and become carbon neutral by 2035.

The first major goals of the center are related to the development of a methodology and indicators for assesing the carbon footprint. Areas of work include the preparation of a circular economy strategy, development projects related to the public space and buildings of the university campus, and the issue of mobility. Cooperation is established with other universities whose goal is to study and promote environmental protection and reduce anthropogenic climate change and its consequences, as well as with Tehnopol, the city of Tallinn and companies with which the above mentioned principles and development directions are in line with.
