Saban Ibrahim Göksal

Saban Ibrahim Göksal joined in September 2024 as a PhD researcher, immersing himself in multifaceted research at the intersection of ethics, law and emerging technology. Currently, his research domain is trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a particular focus on AI governance, human agency and oversight and human-AI interaction modelling. His research objectives are to enhance the conceptual foundation of trustworthy AI related to human-centricity, human agency and oversight and AI governance and to design socio-technical human-AI interaction models as AI governance mechanisms to increase operational applicability of trustworthy AI concept. He actively uses institutional analysis, grounded theory, participatory design, design science research, and socio technical system design theories as a method in his studies.

Victoria Kozlova joined in October 2025 as a PhD researcher on the project “Deconstructing Digital Colonialism for Equitable Sovereignty”, funded under the European Commission’s DREAM+PLAN program and co-supervised with RMIT University, Australia. Her research examines how decentralized technologies mobilize narratives of sovereignty and regeneration. A central focus of her work is the evolving concept of sovereignty itself, including Indigenous data sovereignty, and its contestation across legal, technical, and cultural domains. Her academic background is in sociolinguistics, gender studies, and communication, and she brings prior industry experience from the Web3 space, having co-led EU-funded R&D projects.
