TalTech recognizes its supporters at the annual spring Major Supporters’ Appreciation Event, held in conjunction with the Development Fund Scholarship Ceremony. At this event, individuals and legal entities who have made a significant contribution to the university are honored.
According to the Statute of Recognition of Supporters, supporters may be awarded the following titles:
- Gold Sponsor – a person who has donated at least €100,000 or assets of equivalent value during a calendar year;
- Major Supporter – a person who has donated between €30,000 and €100,000 or assets of equivalent value during a calendar year;
- Supporter – a person who has donated between €5,000 and €30,000 or assets of equivalent value during a calendar year;
- Honorary Sponsor of Tallinn University of Technology – an additional title granted to an individual whose cumulative donations exceed €100,000, or to a company whose cumulative donations exceed €500,000 in assets;
- Annual Sponsor of Tallinn University of Technology – an additional title awarded to the individual or organization who has made the largest contribution to the university in the previous calendar year.

Rein Lind was born in Tallinn on February 24, 1952. In 1975, Lind started at the Tallinn Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Electrical Automation, which he graduated in 1980 as an electrical engineer. After graduating from TPI, Rein Lind started working as an engineer in a special construction office until 1991, when the Republic of Estonia was restored. After the restoration, Rein Lind participated in the development of the Estonian Defense Forces, he served as a staff officer in the General Staff of the Defense Forces, being an expert in armaments. His work was related to the technical part of armaments, where he also had to apply the experience and knowledge gained in the above-mentioned work, and he also had to cooperate with Tallinn University of Technology if necessary. Later, the field of armaments was transferred to the Defense Logistics Center, where Rein Lind served until his retirement. His wish was that the field of automation and electrical engineering would survive and develop. Rein Lind died on 13.10.2021 in Tallinn.

We channel approximately 70 million liters of drinking water per day into the water network and send 120 million liters of environmentally safe treated waste water to a treatment plant and then into the sea. Our work in handling and using this valuable natural resource for the benefit of customers, residents, guests and the environment requires careful and long-term planning.
