The test measures your English skills in a variety of environments, beyond just academic. It´s questions adjust to your skill level as you go through the test. The test uses a simple, flexible approach to create an engaging testing experience.

TOEFL Essentials scores are reported as bands.

• Each Section Score: 1–12, reported in full bands
• Overall Score: 1–12, reported in half bands (average of section scores)
