IEEE OJPEL Compendium
IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
The organizers of the 2025 IEEE International Conference on DC Microgrids (ICDCM 2025) are pleased to announce a special issue of the IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics (OJPEL), by the IEEE Power Electronics Society. This special issue offers authors the opportunity to submit extended versions of papers first presented at ICDCM 2025. Publishing in the IEEE OJ-PEL provides numerous benefits, including high-quality peer reviews and a fast review process, with an average review time of approximately four weeks from submission to first decision. Authors who presented papers at IEEE ICDCM 2025 are eligible to submit their work to this special issue of the IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics.
The call for papers for the OJPEL Compendium can be found here.
To be considered for publication in the IEEE OJPEL, submissions must include significant new material beyond the original conference paper, such as additional technical analysis and insights, an expanded literature review and state-of-the-art comparison, enhanced simulation results, and experimental validations. A minimum of 30% difference from the conference version is expected, and the evolution from the conference paper to the journal article must be fully referenced.
Additional benefits of publishing in the IEEE OJPEL include:
- No over-length paper charges.
- A prompt review process while maintaining the highest standards of peer review.
- 100% open access, making all articles freely available to the global research community.
- Authors retain copyright under either a CCBY 4.0 or CCBY-NC-ND license.
- Waived or reduced article processing charges (APCs) for authors from low-income countries.
- Publishing discounts: 5% for IEEE members and 15% for PELS members.
- APCs are often covered by institutions or funders.
Many institutions have IEEE Open Access Agreements, covering publishing fees for affiliated authors. A full list of institutional partners can be found here.
We encourage all authors presenting at ICDCM 2025 to take advantage of this opportunity to extend and publish their work in the IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
Deadline for Manuscript Submissions: November 1, 2025
Scheduled Publication Time: August 2026.
