On October 8, 2025, Dr Eugene Holubnjak, Director of the Hydrogen Energy Research Centre at the University of Wyoming's School of Energy Resources, accompanied by guests from the US Embassy in Estonia, visited TalTech.

The visit started in the morning with a tour of the laboratories in the Department of Geology, and an overall TalTech tour, guided by Dr. Kazbulat Shogenov.
In the afternoon, Dr Eugene Holubnjak gave a public lecture, “Regulatory and Policy Challenges for Hydrogen Ecosystem Growth in the United States.” The lecture addressed key political and regulatory barriers shaping the clean hydrogen transition in the U.S., with particular focus on their implications and lessons for Estonia and Europe. This event was targeted at students, researchers, policymakers and industry stakeholders engaged in the development of sustainable energy systems.
Dr. Fjodor Sergeev, Dean of the School of Engineering, welcomed the guests on behalf of TalTech, and Dr. Alla Shogenova on behalf of the Department of Geology. The public lecture concluded with numerous questions and discussions from participants both online and onsite.
The TalTech visit and public lecture were organised by the US Embassy in Estonia, TalTech American Space and TalTech Department of Geology.
