This will be the sixth time TalTech is inviting everyone interested to participate in diverse and educational activities aimed at fostering a more sustainable future. Sustainability week is led by students from the School of Business and Governance, with support from the Centre for Responsible Economy and ESG, and under the guidance of lecturers Agnes Makk and Eliis Salm from the Department of Business Administration.

“This year, Estonia reached its Overshoot Day as early as March 8. Overshoot Day marks the point when humanity has consumed all the natural resources that can be regenerated within a year. If everyone consumed like Estonians, we would need 5.5 planets,” explains Eliis Salm, highlighting the importance of raising awareness through Sustainability Week.

The week culminates on April 22 with Earth Day, which focuses on protecting biodiversity on the planet. TalTech offers a range of activities during the week to promote awareness and practical skills for living sustainably.

This year’s activities include:

  • Clothes swapping and closet decluttering
  • Learning about circular economy business models
  • Debunking common sustainability myths
  • Disposing of electronic waste
  • Participating in a waste-sorting competition
  • And much more

All events are free and open to everyone interested.
