Andmete terviklikkus
Terviseandmete usaldusväärne kasutamine eeldab nende läbipaistvust ja terviklikkust nii esmase kui ka teisese kasutuse korral. Doktorant-nooremteadud Marten kask uurib meetodeid ja tööriistu, mis tagavad terviseandmete kvaliteedi ja usaldusväärsuse kogu kasutusprotsessi vältel. Eesmärk on kaardistada olemasolevad lahendused, arendada uusi ning hinnata nende sobivust teaduse, tarkvara töökindluse ja ka süsteemide koostalitlusvõime vaatenurgast.

Terviseandmete turvaline teisene kasutamine ja suurandmete analüüs eeldab andmete usaldusväärset anonümiseerimist ja pseudonümiseerimist. Doktorant-nooremteadur Olga Vovk uurib meetodeid ja tööriistu, mis võimaldavad automatiseeritud ja reeglipõhist andmete anonümiseerimist ja pseudünümiseerimist, tagades samal ajal nende analüütilise väärtuse ning vastavuse andmekaitsenõuetele. Eesmärk on kaardistada olemasolevad lahendused, arendada uusi ning hinnata nende sobivust andmete teisesel kasutusel.

Otsustustoe süsteemid
Üheks terviseandmete teisese kasutuse valdkonnaks on andmete rakendamine otsustustoe süsteemides ning masinõppe ja tehisintellekti lahendustes. Uurimisfookuses on nii arstidele mõeldud otsustustoe süsteemid diagnoosimise ja ravi valdkonnas kui ka inimestele suunatud tervise järjepidevuse ja elustiili toetuslahendused. Lisaks uuritakse AI võimalusi loomuliku, struktureerimata keele töötlemiseks ja struktureerimiseks, et suurendada terviseandmete analüüsi täpsust ja kasutatavust. Terviseandmete usaldusväärne kasutamine tehisintellekti ja masinõppe kontekstis nõuab andmete kvaliteedi ja semantilise tõlgendatavuse tagamist, samuti läbipaistvate ja eetiliste algoritmide arendamist. Antud valdkonnaga tegelevad doktorid Ants Torim ja Ahti Lohk ning magistrandid Ken Kruuser ja Maarja Helena Elisabeth Hoop.

Isikuomandis terviseandmed
Üheks uurimisteemaks on võimalik tulevikustsenaarium, kus terviseandmed on täielikult inimese omandis ja tema suveräänse kontrolli all. Selleks katsetame terviseandmete detsentraliseeritud sisu-aadressitavates salvestusvõrkudes hoidmise tehnikaid, arhitektuure ja stsenaariume. Teemat veab doktorant-nooremteadur Toomas Klementi.
