PEMC-C

30th Anniversary of the PEMC Council foundation!

The Power Electronics and Motion Control Council (PEMC-C) is an international, non-profit scientific council composed mainly of Central European professors and researchers in power electronics and motion control. It was founded on 3 September 1996. Since 2023, its headquarters have been at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Debrecen, Hungary.

PEMC-C’s primary mission is to organize the Power Electronics and Motion Control (PEMC) International Conference series, rotating across Europe as a direct continuation of events held since 1970, initially mainly in Budapest. Before the Council’s establishment, these conferences were organized every three to four years by the Hungarian Electrotechnical Association (headquartered in Budapest), making PEMC the oldest conference series in this field in Europe.

Today, the Council has representatives from around 20 European countries, most of which are EU members, with a particularly strong base in Central Europe. More broadly, PEMC-C promotes and coordinates the exchange and publication of technical, scientific, and economic knowledge in power electronics and motion control, and supports closer professional integration across Western and Central Europe.
