The Doctoral School of Biomedicine and Biotechnology

DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF BIOMEDICINE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY

The Doctoral School of Biomedicine and Biotechnology is an institution established at Tallinn University of Technology within the framework of Tallinn University of Technology ASTRA project "TUT Development Plan for 2016-2022" reg no. 2014-2020.4.1.16-0032, which is financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund.

Doctoral schools are institutions for supporting doctoral studies. Doctoral schools are thematic and cross the borders of single universities. Doctoral schools organize and finance courses and seminars for doctoral students, finance visits abroad, invite speakers from abroad, and support a variety of other activities.

The aim of the doctoral school is to increase the efficiency and quality of doctoral studies. In cooperation with the University of Tartu, Tallinn University and Estonian University of Life Sciences, the doctoral school offers various opportunities to unite young researchers, especially doctoral students in different research groups and universities to facilitate mutual information exchange, organize lectures and seminars and contribute to research, international cooperation, and raising the quality of doctoral studies.

The doctoral school does not carry out research, but it is done in the research units associated with the doctoral school. The doctoral school does not award doctoral degrees, but it is done by the universities associated with the doctoral school.

The operating time of the Doctoral School of Biomedicine and Biotechnology is 01.01.2016 to 31.08.2023. The project is coordinated by Archimedes Foundation.

THE DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF BIOMEDICINE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY INCLUDES DOCTORAL STUDENTS WHO ARE STUDYING IN THE FOLLOWING CURRICULUM:

Tallinn University of Technology:

-Chemical and Genetic Engineering (YALD02)

NB! In exceptional cases and on the basis of an application doctoral students of other study programs, whose research topic is related to the field, can be included also!

The following curricula from the University of Tartu are included

  • Gene Technology (80348)
  • Molecular and Cell Biology (80345)
  • Engineering and technology (80615)
