The Book of Honour

In 2023, the Department of Energy Technology started a new tradition, recognizing the best-performing employees whose names are listed in the School’s book of honour.
The employees are recognized in three categories: the Academic Staff of the Year, the Staff of the Year, and the Achievement of the Year.
The title of the Academic Staff of the Year is awarded to a researcher/lecturer who is outstanding in his field, whose research results and/or teaching materials have been widely recognized, who is consistently effective in teaching, who has made a significant contribution to the department's research and/or teaching activities and business cooperation.
The Staff of the Year is awarded to an employee who has contributed to the activities of the department, is an inspiration to his colleagues, is consistently effective, dedicated to his work and supportive of his colleagues.
The purpose of awarding the Achievement of the Year award is to value and recognize important actions for the department or department employees. The Achievement of the Year certificate can be awarded either to an individual or to a group of people in case of a joint achievement.

2023

The 2023 honorees are:
The Academic Staff of the Year of the Department of Energy Technology is MARI-LIIS UMMIK. Mari-Liis contributes significantly to the department's research and teaching activities and business cooperation.
LIISI BLANK was awarded the honorary title of Staff of the Year, she is outstandingly committed to the performance of her duties in the department's accredited laboratory.
The Achievement of the Year is ESTABLISHMENT OF THE THERMAL UNIT LABORATORY, the employees of the department, who contributed to the construction of the heat node alongside the companies, are KERTU LEPIKSAAR, JANEK REINIK, TÕNU PIHU and ALAR KONIST.
