The Book of Honour

In 2023, the Department of Energy Technology started a new tradition, recognizing the best-performing employees whose names are listed in the School’s book of honour.
The employees are recognized in three categories: the Academic Staff of the Year, the Staff of the Year, and the Achievement of the Year.
The title of the Academic Staff of the Year is awarded to a researcher/lecturer who is outstanding in his field, whose research results and/or teaching materials have been widely recognized, who is consistently effective in teaching, who has made a significant contribution to the department's research and/or teaching activities and business cooperation.
The Staff of the Year is awarded to an employee who has contributed to the activities of the department, is an inspiration to his colleagues, is consistently effective, dedicated to his work and supportive of his colleagues.
The purpose of awarding the Achievement of the Year award is to value and recognize important actions for the department or department employees. The Achievement of the Year certificate can be awarded either to an individual or to a group of people in case of a joint achievement.
We are proud of our employees and their achievements!

2024

The 2024 honorees are:
The Academic Staff of the Year is ANNA VOLKOVA. Anna contributes significantly to the department's research and teaching activities and business cooperation.
The title of Staff of the Year was awarded to AILA LAINURM, who is outstandingly dedicated to performing her duties in organizing the department's administration. 
The Achievement of the Year is LAUNCHING OF THE ENGINEERING ACADEMY PROJECT. OLIVER JÄRVIK, ANNA VOLKOVA, ANDREI DEDOV and AILA LAINURM have contributed the most to this major project in 2024.

Dean's Recognition 2024

On December 5, at the annual conference of the School of Engineering of Tallinn University of Technology "Engineering Stars 2024", the Dean recognized the best employees of this year.
The Dean's Recognition for Outstanding Work and the title "Lecturer of the Year 2024" was awarded to DMITRI NEŠUMAJEV, Senior Researcher at the Department of Energy Technology. The "Program Manager of the Year 2024" is Professor OLIVER JÄRVIK, the "Young Scientist of the Year 2024" title was awarded to PhD student-junior researcher MARI-LIIS UMMIK, and Professor ANNA VOLKOVA was recognized as the "Doctoral Thesis Supervisor of the Year 2024".

2023

The 2023 honorees are:
The Academic Staff of the Year of the Department of Energy Technology is MARI-LIIS UMMIK. Mari-Liis contributes significantly to the department's research and teaching activities and business cooperation.
LIISI BLANK was awarded the honorary title of Staff of the Year, she is outstandingly committed to the performance of her duties in the department's accredited laboratory.
The Achievement of the Year is ESTABLISHMENT OF THE THERMAL UNIT LABORATORY, the employees of the department, who contributed to the construction of the heat node alongside the companies, are KERTU LEPIKSAAR, JANEK REINIK, TÕNU PIHU and ALAR KONIST.
