In 1973, intensive renovation and construction work began, in which many employees of the institute participated. The goal was to develop the farm complex into a geological field station, where it would be possible to organize scientific meetings, store the drill cores and rock samples and to initially process and study them.

Gradually, buildings in danger of destruction (dwelling house, grain dryer, cattle-shed, barns) were conserved.
