Flexible manufacturing and robotics laboratory
Overview
The Flexible Manufacturing and Robotics Demo Center is a laboratory at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at TalTech, focused on developing and demonstrating future industrial solutions. The lab provides opportunities to implement Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 concepts, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and collaborative robots. The goal is to develop and showcase smart, human-centered workplaces where collaboration between humans and machines creates flexible, adaptive, and user-friendly production environments.
The demo center supports research and development projects, testing of company ideas, and offers modern learning opportunities for TalTech students.
Equipment and Capabilities
The lab extensively uses industrial robots, mobile robotic platforms, collaborative robots, and various manufacturing and automation systems. A key focus is the creation of smart workplaces where AI supports operators in decision-making, quality control, and system optimization.
