Production Engineering Laboratory

Overview

The Production Engineering Laboratory is a laboratory of the TALTECH Institute of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, where it is possible to perform turning, milling and drilling of parts. The laboratory serves research projects, business collaborations, studies and student development projects.

Equipment and capabilities

The laboratory has the following CNC processing equipment:

• HAAS UMC-500 – 5-axis milling and drilling
• AVEMAX EH-610 – 3-axis milling and drilling
• BEMATO BMT1550EN – 2-axis turning
• HAAS ST-15Y – multi-axis turning, milling and drilling

Main areas of activity

- Mechanical processing of metal and plastic parts
- Post-processing of 3D printed parts
- Teaching

Collaboration and projects

The Production Engineering Laboratory supports TalTech research projects and helps students implement engineering development ideas. The lab is used by various student projects and associations such as FS Team Tallinn, Solaride, Robotiklubi
