Initial Technical Teacher Education

Vocational/Technical Teacher Master Curriculum (120 ECTS) has been designed in 2014 in cooperation with University of Tallinn. Estonian Centre for Engineering Pedagogy of TalTech coordinates the specialisation of Technical Teachers in the curriculum. Technical teacher curriculum modules meet IGIP requirements and have been accredited by IGIP. Graduates may apply for ING.PAED IGIP qualification.

The aim of the curriculum is to give scientifically based, consistent education to persons already possessing at least Bachelor degree/applied higher education in engineering or respondent education, to enable them to teach engineering competently, effectively and creatively at vocational schools, gymnasiums, colleges or universities.

More than 300 technical teachers have graduated TalTech initial teacher education since 2001. They teach STREAM subjects at vocational schools, gymnasiums, institutions of applied higher education and universities all over Estonia. Feedback of employers has been excellent according to the latest research carried out by ECEP.
