All candidates who have applied to a PhD position in INNOCHEMBIO, please check that you are not missing any documents in your application, especially eligibility statement and 2 reference letters.

INNOCHEMBIO application process in the first call is open from the 1st of July to 31st of August 2025.

Your application must be submitted through TalTech’s official application platform Glowbase.
Each application must include the following material: CV, 1-page motivation letter, copies of BSc and MSc study records and diplomas, scanned copy of valid photo ID, 2 reference letters, eligibility statement.

You can apply to two different projects.
You must indicate your choice of topics in the eligibility statement form.

Candidates are selected through a carefully designed 2-stage selection process by several experts in the field.
The selection and recruitment process will be in accordance with the European Charter and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The recruitment process will be open, transparent, impartial, equitable, and merit-based. There will be no overt/covert discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or belief, disability or age. 

The duration of INNOCHEMBIO doctoral programme is 48 months.

Taxes and salary
In Estonia, taxes are withheld from your gross salary by your employer on a monthly basis. You don’t have to make additional payments or file monthly tax returns.

Health insurance
Estonian health insurance is valid for people who work and whose social tax is paid for or who pay the social tax themselves. The validity of your health insurance is the responsibility of your employer.
You become eligible for the national health insurance when your place of residence is registered in Estonia, you are working and the necessary social security contributions are paid for you.

When you are admitted as an PhD student/Early Stage Researcher, you will be employed at TalTech or NICPB and paid a monthly salary.

The employment of INNOCHEMBIO PhD students will be the following:

  • 11 PhD students at the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology at TalTech
  • 3  PhD students at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics
  • 1 PhD student at the Department of Cybernetics at TalTech

No, all applications are accepted only through TalTech’s official application platform Glowbase.

Two recommendation letters must be uploaded directly by the candidate through the Glowbase system, under "Additional Documents".

Do not add "Referee contact data" in Glowbase, the invitation will not be sent to your referees.

All applications will first undergo an eligibility check based on compliance with the INNOCHEMBIO programme and the internal rules of TalTech.

Applicants will be informed of their eligibility no later than September 15th 2025.
