Hydrodynamics Lab
At the heart of our Hydrodynamics Lab is the only model testing basin in the Baltic region.
Main technical specifications:
- Dimensions: Length 60 m, breadth 5 m, and water depth 3 m
- Wave types: Regular (linear) waves (1st order Stokes wave), irregular (nonlinear) waves (Jonswap, Pierson-Moskowitz, ISSC, TMA spectra)
- Wave properties: wave height up to 0.35 m, wave length 0.2–20 m, wave frequency up to 2.8 Hz
The testing basin is equipped with an unmanned carriage capable of towing models that are 1–3 m in length. The carriage's maximum load capacity is 250 kg, and it can achieve speeds of up to 6 m/s. The carriage design ensures that the vibratory response and deflection during testing remain minimal—below 1 mm.
