Congratulations, freshman. Or rebane (fox), as we say in Estonian. You are starting in university that’s considered the most innovative and most valued by employers. Especially when coming from abroad, it’s a tremendous change that can be sometimes challenging, fun and memory for a lifetime for sure. Here’s some information that helps you get on your feet already before the studies.
Kick-Off Event brings together students and over 30 different student organizations. TalTech CheerLeaders, student satellite and BEST-Estonia all show themselves off, as do all the rest of them. Challenges introduce you to the campus, other students, and life in Estonia. The campus is unique in the Baltics.
Of course, there’s a way to take a virtual tour of TalTech. It gives you an overview of the University, Innovation and Business Centre Mektory and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol. But it means you’ll miss seeing up to 35 different species of butterflies, self-driving car IseAuto and one of the most modern library remain unseen.
TalTech is the only Estonian University that gives out information already before the academic year. Orientation Days you’ll get to know your options (for language studies or sporting, for example) and other things.
Student counselling office can help you with math, physics and mapping out a future career. They can also put you in touch with a specialist for academic, career, or psychological counselling. They also help students with special needs.
Your digital door to TalTech is a student portal accessed with your student ID. It allows you to see the class schedule, where to eat and many other things.
