Student Housing

Akadeemia 5a was built in 1964 and renovated in 2017 as an energy-efficient apartment building. This is the first student residence in Estonia that was renovated to near zero energy level.

It is located about a 5-minute walk away from the university. There are 70 one-room and 10 two-room apartments in the building. The average size for 1-room apartment is around 36,5 m² and 2-room apartments are on average 52,7 m² in size. All apartments have furnished kitchen, hallway and bathroom. Rooms have spacious wardrobes, but no other furniture. Tenants are required to provide their own furnishing. In the cellar, there is a self-service laundry and separate room for storing bicycles and baby carriages. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and security is provided 24/7 by the security service. Technical issues are handled by Student Campus' maintenance technicians.

The condition for getting an apartment in a family residence is that the tenant is studying at Tallinn University of Technology. Priority is given to student families with young children. Student couples are also welcome in the family dormitory.
