Swedbank presents: Rector's Cup Standings for the 2023/24 Season

LISA - Bonus points for participants, supporters, and helpers at the basketball game held on 20.03.204 and for the stages held in the second half of the year.

The point system for the 2023/24 season

The point system for the 2023/24 season combines activity and competition points.

The competition points for this season are distributed as follows:

I place - 240 points

II place - 200 points

III place - 160 points

IV place - 140 points

V place - 120 points

The faculties' Rector's Cup activity points are distributed with the following coefficients (per participation):

School of Engineering: 1 point

IT: 1.18 points

School of Business and Governance: 1.56 points

School of Science: 5.35 points

Maritime Academy: 6.85 points

Rector's Cup statistics for the season 2023/24

Participant Numbers

 In total, there were 2375 participants, including TalTech students, staff, and alumni, across the nine stages. This makes an average of 264 participants per stage. The average number of participants per stage for the 2022/23 season was 134, indicating an increase in the popularity of the Rector's Cup.​ ​​

Number of Participants in Voluntary and Special Events

We would like to express our gratitude to all the volunteers who have made a significant contribution to the organization of the Rector's Cup stages. All volunteers contribute activity points to their faculties, which are also considered in the overall standings of the Rector's Cup.

In addition, activity points for the Rector's Cup 2023/24 were distributed at several different events, where all participants received activity points for the Rector's Cup series:

  • Basketball game between TalTech and Ventspils on 14.10
  • Fan bus for TalTech vs Tartu University basketball game
  • Supporters cheering on their own: TalTech vs Tartu basketball game on 20.03, where ultras earned triple points for their faculty More special events are expected where all participants will have the opportunity to earn activity points for their faculty.
