Tallinn University of Technology

Exchange studies abroad

All students of Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) have the opportunity to apply for exchange studies for either one semester or a full academic year at one of TalTech’s partner universities. It is possible to study abroad either within the Erasmus+ programme or on the basis of the university’s bilateral agreements.

Each year there are two application rounds:

  • Main round – in February (application for the autumn semester or a full academic year)

  • Additional round – in September (application for the spring semester)

A student may spend 1–2 semesters in studies abroad, up to a total of 12 months. During the period of studies abroad, the student must complete at least 15 ECTS credits per semester, which will be counted toward the completion of their curriculum.

Within the Erasmus+ programme, it is also possible to go abroad for a traineeship. The duration of the traineeship may be up to 6 months, and the traineeship must be related to the student’s field of study. It is possible to apply for a traineeship year-round; the documents must be completed no later than 1 month before the start of the traineeship. An international traineeship can also be completed after graduation. In that case, the application must be submitted while the person is still listed as a TalTech student (at least 1 month before the thesis defence). The number of grants for recent graduates is limited.
