Welcome Reception

The reception will be organized in the Energy Discovery Center on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The venue is located 1 km away from the conference hotel and can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes from the venue hotel.

The Energy Discovery Center is located in a 100-year-old power plant in the center of Tallinn on the border of the Old Town and the Kalamaja district. Here, you can see lightning even on a sunny day! Every day, lightning demonstrations are carried out with Tesla coils in the discovery center – an exhilarating experience. More than 100 hands-on exhibits explain how different electrical equipment works, but also show exciting sound and light effects and introduce the cosmos and natural phenomena. The center has a planetarium where you can watch popular science short films and observe the sky. The center welcomes all curious minds, especially families with children.

A free walking tour will be arranged for conference participants leading to the venue of the Welcome Reception.

Gala Dinner

Gala Dinner will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Lillepaviljon, one of Tallinn’s most elegant and architecturally distinctive event venues. The venue is located 3 km away from the conference hotel. Bus transportation between the conference hotel and Lillepaviljon will be arranged for participants.

Situated in front of the Pirita seaside promenade, close to the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, Lillepaviljon offers a bright, spacious, and memorable setting for an evening of celebration, networking, and Estonian hospitality. The venue’s glass façades, open interior, and refined atmosphere create an excellent backdrop for bringing the PEMC community together after a full day of conference sessions. Designed by renowned Estonian architect Valve Pormeister, Lillepaviljon is a notable example of Nordic modernist architecture in Tallinn. Its combination of historical character, contemporary event facilities, and scenic surroundings makes it a fitting venue for a festive dinner. The evening will offer participants an opportunity to continue discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoy good food and company, and experience another side of Tallinn beyond the conference venue.

You MUST present the corresponding ticket from your conference package to gain entry to the social event.
